SZVAN Demonstrates 5G-Advanced Optical Solutions at MWC Barcelona 2025
March 3–6, 2025 | Fira Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain
SZVAN Electronics returned to Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2025 (March 3–6) with a sharpened focus on 5G-Advanced and emerging 6G research optical requirements. With over 100,000 attendees, MWC 2025 continued to be the world's most influential mobile industry gathering.
At the SZVAN meeting suite, the company demonstrated its expanded 5G optical module portfolio, including 25G SFP28 for front-haul, 50G SFP56 for mid-haul, and 100G QSFP28 for back-haul applications. New for 2025 was SZVAN's 100G QSFP28 ZR4 module, capable of 10 km reach for extended front-haul deployments — addressing the needs of operators deploying distributed unit (DU) pools in central offices.
"5G-Advanced is pushing more bandwidth deeper into the network edge," said SZVAN's telecom product manager. "Our 100G ZR4 front-haul module lets operators centralize DUs without sacrificing reach, reducing operational costs."
SZVAN also engaged with operators exploring x-haul architectures for 6G research testbeds, where 200G and 400G optical connectivity may be required at the cell site level. While commercial 6G is years away, SZVAN is positioning itself as a technology partner for early proof-of-concept deployments.
The event yielded 25+ qualified leads from telecom operators in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with particular strength in the Gulf Cooperation Council market.
